⁉️ Do you ever wish that you could live your life free from the burden of keeping the Word of God?
⁉️ Do you look with envy upon people who disregard God’s Word and do whatever they want?
⁉️ Does their life look more fun and easier for them?
📖 David wrestled with the same things in Psalm 37.
🌿 A lot of times the sinfulness of the flesh will take a gift that God has given to us and misuse it.
🍽️ For example, food can be misused if we hoard it or consume too much of it. 🍽
💖 Psalm 37 reminds us to delight in the Lord and He will give us the desires of our heart.
❓ How can the desires of our hearts be good?
🛐 David is comparing the desires of the sinful flesh to a heart that trusts in the Lord.
🙏 God gives in accordance with his mercy and wisdom.
⏳ It sometimes seems like God is holding back — that he’s not giving us the same gifts and blessings that he’s giving other people, and we might feel cheated.
✝️ However, because of our relationship with Christ, we look not to the things of this earth, but we look to the things from above — and those things last to eternity.
✨ By comparison, the eternal blessings that we receive from God really aren’t worth comparing to the temporal blessings that we might receive in this life. ✨
🌈 As we wait for the Lord to reveal the fullness of the glory that he has in store for us, we wait patiently for the Lord to exalt us and to give us our inheritance of eternal rest in his kingdom.
