What’s heaven going to be like?
The Bible tells us plenty about how to get there — that we’re saved by grace through faith in Christ alone—but it doesn’t give us detailed descriptions of what heaven will actually be like.
Instead, Scripture uses imagery and pictures to help us understand.
What we do know is that heaven will be good. Really good.
And like most people, I don’t like waiting for good things. I want to experience them now. I want to know what the resurrection will be like, what heaven will feel like.
Here’s the good news: we get a taste of it every Sunday.
When we come to church, especially to the altar where Christ is physically present in His body and blood, we experience a glimpse of what the resurrection will be like.
What makes heaven so incredible?
God’s presence.
And God is here for us every week at His altar, giving us a sample of what’s to come.
In His kingdom are all the saints, angels, archangels, and the whole company of heaven, and they’re with us every time we worship.
Sunday morning worship bridges the gap between here and eternity. We get a little taste of what it will feel like.
Sometimes we feel it when we hear God’s people sing His praises and rejoice in His gifts.
Sometimes the church feels empty or ordinary, and we don’t sense it.
But by faith, because God’s Word says He is present in His glory with all His kingdom, we receive a foretaste of that feast to come.
For one hour, we can set aside every distraction from school, work, and life to focus on God’s gifts.
That goodness is a little taste of the resurrection, a glimpse of hope showing how great things will be when only God’s presence and His life through Jesus matter.
