When we discuss the eighth day and resurrection’s promises, we often focus on eternal hopes — the resurrection of the dead, God’s eternal kingdom, and the end of all pain and suffering.
The book of Revelation beautifully promises that God will wipe away all tears, and we’ll hunger and thirst no more. Everything will be made new.
But we must remember the “now” alongside the “not yet.” What hope do we have today?
Dear Christian, God the Father hears, sees, and knows you by name.
He promises to hear your prayers.
Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit, who now dwells within you.
You’ve been given faith that doesn’t depend on your understanding but on God’s calling you as His own.
You have forgiveness — not just once, but continually.
When Satan corners you with accusations, you can declare: “I’m a baptized child of God. I’ve been forgiven. Jesus has already claimed me.”
In this broken world, you’re not alone.
We don’t serve a distant God who blames us for our suffering.
Instead, we have a God who entered our flesh to suffer alongside us and continues to do so today.
You’re sustained by Jesus’ body and blood and through the people God places in your life through vocations.
The church surrounds you for support, just as you help others. You’re not meant to walk in isolation.
Right now, God hasn’t abandoned you. Jesus hasn’t left you. You remain His child — He knows and sees you.
Remember that everything we do flows from God’s gifts to us.
We worship not to look better or feel good, but because it’s where God delivers His goods.
The church is a hospital for sick sinners needing healing.
Go, dear Christian, and receive God’s good gifts, knowing their full culmination is coming.
