Psalm 17:8 has this beautiful saying: “Keep me as the apple of your eye; Hide me in the shadow of your wings.” 🍎🕊️

This verse is used in the closing of the day prayer office (liturgy) called Compline. 🌙🙏
Compline is prayed right before we go to bed. 🛌

(Maybe you’ve prayed Compline if you’ve been to a Higher Things conference.)

No matter what you’ve gone through during the day—no matter the ups 📈 and downs 📉—whatever it may be, whether things went well 🌟 or not so well today.

Or maybe you have sins you’ve been fighting. ⚔️💔

Pray this verse: “Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings.” 🍎🕊️

When we hear “wings,” we think of angels 👼, spreading their wings and covering us. And that’s true—God sends his ministers, his angels, to take care of us. ✨

But also, think of “shadow of your wings” as the outstretched arms of Christ. ✝️

With this in mind, we can also pray, “Jesus, hide me under the work you did on the cross for me.” ✝️🤍

No matter what you’ve gone through today, sing this verse 🎶 before you go to bed tonight 🛏️,
in the assured confidence that you are under the protection of your Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ, ✨✝️ and that you are under his arms and in the shadow of what he has done — protected 🛡️, defended 🏰, and well taken care of. 💕
